<br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ii <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Superintendent Jones explained the plans are being reviewed by Red Cross to <br />determine accessibility of the facility in the event of a distaster. He said the <br />plans have also been reviewed by an electrical consultant, a HV AC consultant <br />and by the Building Maintenance staff. He estimated over $20,000 has been <br />saved in costs after review by the Building Maintenance staff by making <br />recommendations on the plans. <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis asked about the "wish list" of the new Red Morton <br />Center and the plans for organizing a fund raising program. Commissioner <br />Howard said she will be attending the April 5 meeting of the Red Morton <br />Steering Committee and will discuss this matter and bring back the <br />information to the next Commission meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - LETZRING MEMORIAL UPDATE <br /> <br />Commissioner Nordness reported by the City Council approved the Letzring <br />Memorial at their February 28 meeting. Both Vice Mayor Dick Claire and <br />Councilman Jack Greenalch spoke about Gerry and his contribution to the <br />community at the Council meeting. The dedication will take place at <br />Opening Day Ceremonies of the Redwood City National Little League on <br />April 16 at Kiwanis Field at 9:00am. Commissioner Nordness said the City <br />Council has been invited to the ceremony and several of the <br />Councilmembers will speak. Several donation checks have been received for <br />the memorial including a $2,000 check from the Redwood City National Little <br />League. He mentioned that Recreation Supervisor Bill Wooten said the <br />lettering on the scoreboards and the memorial stone will be installed a few <br />days before the ceremony. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howard and the other Commissioners thanked <br />Commissioner Nordness for the fine job he did on the memorial project. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - REVIEW OF PROPOSED CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />Director Griffiths reviewed the draft of the Capital Improvement Program for <br />Fiscal Years 1994-99 and the CIP process our department follows with the <br />Commissioners. He said he met yesterday with a committee to help prioritize <br />the CIP projects throughout the City. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Nordness reported that Redwood City International met <br />recently with George Barbour to establish a mission statement and develop <br />short and long term goals for the organization. <br /> <br />
