<br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 27, 1994 <br /> <br />CO MMI S S lONERS PRE SENT: Chairperson Swope, Co mmiss io ners <br />Davis, Morton and Nordness <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Howard, Slusser and <br />Truscelli <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: None <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Peter Griffiths, Superintendent Bob Jones, <br />Management Analyst Ramon Aguilar, and <br />Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order at 7:30pm by Chairperson Susan Swope in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the March meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-Chairperson Swope commented on the Customer Service Quality <br />Improvement Survey developed by the Parks Division. Director Griffiths <br />exp lained the preliminary survey was done two weekends ago at Red Morton <br />and Hoover Parks. The results are being tabulated from the 250+ survey <br />responses received. A similar survey was mailed to over 200 neighbors of <br />those two parks and 25 responses have been received so far. Survey results <br />will be shared with the Park and Recreation Commissioners. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Swope asked about the memo regarding the deteriorated roof at <br />Hawes Park. Director Griffiths said Hawes School Principal Darryl Blackmore <br />has been notified of the problem and the repair work has been recommended <br />as a Capital Improvement Project for FY94-95. <br /> <br />ITEM 1- DOGS IN THE PARKS <br /> <br />Management Analyst Ramon Aguilar said he has been contacted by San <br />Francisco Water Department (SFWD) regarding our request to use the Hetch <br />Hetchy property located at Fernside Street and Massachusetts Avenue as a <br />possible dog exercise area.
