She said she was <br />impressed with contributions collected for the Gabriel Fund and the success of <br />the program. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis suggested that the furniture and storage items needed <br />for the portable trailers to house the Red Morton Center during construction <br />which are being cut from the budget be added to the "Wish List". He also <br />asked why the lapidary shop could be incorporated into Burlingame's senior <br />center but was not compatible with our senior center. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli said she was glad that representatives from the <br />Sequoia Gem and Mineral Society finally met with Jan Knight to try and <br />resolve the relocation issue. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli announced the Native Daughters of the Golden <br />West will be holding a pasta dinner on Friday, June 10, 1994 at the Veterans <br />Memorial Senior Center. Dinner is at 6:30pm and dancing will be from 8:00- <br />11:00pm and the cost is $10.00 per person. The funds raised will help pay for <br />the tree plaques used for their Arbor Day Ceremonies. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Morton asked if the Commission could have name badges <br />similar to the Civic Cultural Commission. Staff will look into costs of the <br />badges and report back to the Commission. <br /> <br />-Vince Truscelli announced the annual American Legion Memorial Day <br />Services will be held on Monday, May 31, 1994 at 8:00am at Union Cemetery <br />and a breakfast will follow at the American Legion Hall. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 9:05am to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, June 22, 1994 at the <br />Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br />California. <br /> <br />
