She felt that we need to touch all facets of the <br />community including corporate businesses, grants, individuals buying bricks, <br />etc. <br />It was suggested having Supervisor Ian Knight speak to building users to see <br />who might be willing to help serve on the committee. Commissioner Davis <br />said he would like to try and solicit a major contributor before the <br />groundbreaking so it could be announced at the groundbreaking ceremony. <br />Commissioner Slusser said he felt we needed to evaluate the idea of getting <br />someone to assist in the fund raising process. Commissioner Davis said he <br />will talk to Mark Schatz's fund raising person and also to Commissioner <br />Distefano. <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis suggested having a future Park and Recreation <br />Commission meeting with a very short agenda and then adjourn to a <br />discussion on the Red Morton fund raising effort. People to be invited to the <br />discussion would include the Civic Cultural Commission, Councilwoman <br />LaBerge and Councilwoman Gasparini. The Commissioners discussed <br />devoting the entire August meeting to develop the fund raising plans. <br />Commissioner Davis asked each of the Commissioners to come with ideas, <br />suggestions, names of people who could handle specific functions/ duties of <br />the fund raising committee, and target groups to the August meeting. It was <br />suggested forming a different sub-committee for each type of fund raising <br />effort. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slusser felt there needs to be a facilitator/ coordinator of the <br />fund raising effort who should be experienced in achieving fund raising <br />goals.
