<br />. <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF AUGUST 24, 1994 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Swope, Commissioners <br />Davis, Howard, Nordness and Slusser <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Commissioners Morton and Truscelli <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: John Mooney <br /> <br />STAFF PRE SENT: D irecto r G riffi ths, Recreation Sup erviso r Hannon, <br />and Park Supervisor Gibbons <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the Community Activities Building, <br />1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />A correction was made to the July minutes on Page 3, Item 5; sentence should <br />say the pagoda was 20' in diameter. The minutes were approved as corrected. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />There was no correspondence. <br /> <br />The following items were taken out of order: <br /> <br />ITEM 2 . RED MORTON CENTER UPDATE <br /> <br />-Fund Raising Discussion <br />Commissioner Davis, chairperson of the fund raising sub-committee, <br />reported he made contact with Mark Schatz regarding fund raising <br />representatives. Mr. Schatz recommended Ms. Sandy Leib and <br />Commissioner Davis mentioned he has had some difficulty getting in touch <br />with her. Ms. Leib worked on the Center for Independent Living project in <br />Marin. Commissioner Davis said he has also tried to contact Cultural <br />Commissioner Lettie Distefano regarding using her publication skills in <br />creating a gift booklet. <br /> <br />
