.

,

Supervisor Knight noted that the Teen Center will be open every day after
school and on the weekends and will have constant supervision. She also
explained that one of the reasons to charge a nominal fee for youth is to get
them to "buy into" the facility. Commissioner Davis asked about having a
different fee schedule for ages 18-21 and Supervisor Knight suggested having
them work at the Center if they could not to pay. Supervisor Knight noted
that staff expects to have a bi-lingual brochure of the facility by the grand
opening of the Center.

Supervisor Hannon said a company in Wisconsin has been located who can
supply the correct type of bricks which will coordinate with the architecture of
the building. The bricks will cost $20.44 each which includes shipping,
handling and engraving. A limit of 300 bricks can be sold at $100.00 each
which would net the project over $23,000. There is also still room for
approximately 50 tiles for the Kids Klub area which can also be sold for
handprints as a fundraising project.

Chairperson Swope reported that she and Commissioner Davis have been
working on a draft of the main brochure which has been reviewed by staff.
The brochure is 12 pages in length with lots of pictures and they hope to go to
print next week. The Commissioners discussed different options in having
the brochure printed. Chairperson Swope said she has been reviewing
foundation grant information and spoke about the different types available.

Over $4,000.00 in donations have been received so far for the Fund Raising
Project. The Commissioners discussed different mailing lists that could be
utilized to mail information to the public about the project. It was suggested
that a notice could be sent out in utility bills about the brick/ tile program.
Commissioner Davis felt that an acknowledgment should be sent to all
donors. Chairperson Swope and Commissioners Davis and Morton will
work on locating a printer who might be able to donate his/her services for
the printing of the brochure. Chairperson Swope noted she will begin calling
foundations regarding grant applications. She noted that several people at
the March 1 Fund Raising meeting volunteered to help with clerical
functions and perhaps they could handle the thank you letters and keep track
of the donations.

Commissioner Truscelli announced she has tickets for the Saturday, June 3
pasta dinner to be held at 6pm at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. She
will announce the dinner to all the senior groups in May.

Commissioner Hughes suggested the following ideas for fund raising
activities: a dinner dance with a silent auction at the Police Department or
Fire Station, tickets would be $25.00 each; a dinner dance held in the new
gymnasium of the Red Morton Center which would be held prior to the
