Commissioner Hughes said she would be willing to <br />organize the events but wanted the Commissioners' input. <br /> <br />M/S Hughes/Davis: To have the dinner dance in the Red Morton Center <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />gymnast um. <br /> <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />M/S Hughes/Morton: To approve in concept the dinner dance with silent <br />auction at the Police Department or Fire Department. <br /> <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Truscelli said she has been working with a travel agent to <br />organize senior day trips to Lake Tahoe. The travel agent has agreed to <br />dona te $5.00 to the Red Morton fund for every person who goes on the next <br />sched uled trip. <br /> <br />COMMITIEE REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis said he received another call from a man who was <br />interested in the Hetch Hetchy dog exercise area and advised him of the <br />resul ts of the proposal. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness said the delegates from China will be arriving in a <br />few weeks to discuss their cultural groups coming in October. He mentioned <br />there was an article on Redwood City International's Sister City search in the <br />San Francisco Chronicle recently. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness inquired about the 4th of July Parade application. <br />He will contact Commissioner Slusser on this matter. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli stated a gazebo is being installed next to the Senior <br />Center and there will be a dedication ceremony when the construction is <br />completed. Commissioner Truscelli suggested designing and selling pins to <br />benefit the Red Morton Center Fund. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness brought in a sample of a sign material developed <br />by Cal Poly University which is damage-resistant. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 9:20pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, May 24,1995 to be held <br />at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood <br />City, California. <br /> <br /> <br />, , <br />""'" .'~'" ',' <br /> <br />" , <br />': ..'
