I \ request. Commissioner Hughes offered to assist Chairperson Swope with the grant writing process. Commissioner Hughes announced she met with Police Chief Carlos Bolanos to discuss a fundraising IIcostumell dinner to be held on Thursday, October 26, 1995 at the new Police Facility. Approval for the event has been given by Chief Bolanos, Director Griffiths and City Manager Ed Everett. A meeting of the planning committee has been scheduled for 7:30am on Thursday, July 6 at Pete's Harbor. Commissioner Hughes explained that no alcohol is allowed at the facility which presents a problem since she planned to have wine served with dinner. She said the food for the event will be donated from various Redwood City restaurants. She is estimating 120 tickets will be sold at a cost of $50.00-75.00 per person which will net $7,000-15,000. Raffle tickets will also be sold and an auction will held at the event. Commissioner Davis mentioned that Civic Cultural Commissioner Tamara Piulle volunteered to donate one of her paintings for the Red Morton fundraising efforts. Commissioner Hughes suggested that instead of purchasing art work for the new Red Morton Center at a cost of $20,000.00 that we obtain donated art work from the new Art Center. Commissioner Truscelli noted that Commissioner Morton's wife donated a handmade afghan and she is selling tickets at a cost of 3 for $2.00. The Commissioners suggested asking the City Council to help with the 4th of July booth and Commissioner Hughes agreed to contact each of them. Chairperson Swope said she needs an updated "Wish List" for the brochure. Commissioner Truscelli said she is still working with the Veterans Memorial Senior Center Advisory Board to have them fund the purchase of the bleachers for the new Red Morton Center. COMMITTEE REPORTS There were no committee reports. or' ,^. . MONTHLY REPORTS -Commissioner Truscelli said the gazebo dedication held at the Senior Center on June 7 was very nice and that Superintendent Sally Hartman did a very good job. -Commissioner Davis asked Supervisor Gibbons about the field maintenance at Roosevelt School. Supervisor Gibbons said although the City re-graded the field recently, the School District is responsible for the maintenance. -Chairperson Swope questioned the totals on the first page of Supervisor Griffith's report and asked if there was double-counting. She also mentioned she was pleased that Erlinda Tulioc's programs were operating at capacity.
