Commissioner Hughes offered to assist Chairperson Swope with the <br />grant writing process. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hughes announced she met with Police Chief Carlos Bolanos <br />to discuss a fundraising IIcostumell dinner to be held on Thursday, October 26, <br />1995 at the new Police Facility. Approval for the event has been given by <br />Chief Bolanos, Director Griffiths and City Manager Ed Everett. A meeting of <br />the planning committee has been scheduled for 7:30am on Thursday, July 6 at <br />Pete's Harbor. Commissioner Hughes explained that no alcohol is allowed at <br />the facility which presents a problem since she planned to have wine served <br />with dinner. She said the food for the event will be donated from various <br />Redwood City restaurants. She is estimating 120 tickets will be sold at a cost of <br />$50.00-75.00 per person which will net $7,000-15,000. Raffle tickets will also be <br />sold and an auction will held at the event. <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis mentioned that Civic Cultural Commissioner Tamara <br />Piulle volunteered to donate one of her paintings for the Red Morton <br />fundraising efforts. Commissioner Hughes suggested that instead of <br />purchasing art work for the new Red Morton Center at a cost of $20,000.00 that <br />we obtain donated art work from the new Art Center. Commissioner <br />Truscelli noted that Commissioner Morton's wife donated a handmade <br />afghan and she is selling tickets at a cost of 3 for $2.00. The Commissioners <br />suggested asking the City Council to help with the 4th of July booth and <br />Commissioner Hughes agreed to contact each of them. Chairperson Swope <br />said she needs an updated "Wish List" for the brochure. Commissioner <br />Truscelli said she is still working with the Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br />Advisory Board to have them fund the purchase of the bleachers for the new <br />Red Morton Center. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />There were no committee reports. <br /> <br />or' <br /> <br />,^. . <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli said the gazebo dedication held at the Senior Center <br />on June 7 was very nice and that Superintendent Sally Hartman did a very <br />good job. <br />-Commissioner Davis asked Supervisor Gibbons about the field maintenance <br />at Roosevelt School. Supervisor Gibbons said although the City re-graded the <br />field recently, the School District is responsible for the maintenance. <br />-Chairperson Swope questioned the totals on the first page of Supervisor <br />Griffith's report and asked if there was double-counting. She also mentioned <br />she was pleased that Erlinda Tulioc's programs were operating at capacity. <br /> <br />
