<br />. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />; <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission.. . <br />Minutes of June 2b, 1996 . <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - BELMONT SCHOOL DISTRICT UPDATE <br /> <br />Superintendent Seleznow provided the Commissioners with a copy of <br />Director Griffiths' June 19, 1996 Status Report on Sandpiper Park, noting that <br />on June 18 the Planning Commission had approved the Negative Declaration <br />for the project. He pointed out that the initial estimated costs for the project <br />exceeded the budget and that cuts were being made. He also displayed a copy <br />of the current project schedule. Commissioners Morton, Davis and Slusser <br />expressed their concern with the lack of Commission input on this project, <br />especially in light of its fast track and budget cuts. Superintendent Seleznow <br />said he would invite Director Griffiths to an upcoming meeting to give a <br />more thorough report on the status of project. <br /> <br />COMMITIEE REPORTS <br /> <br />There were no committee reports. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />There were no monthly reports. <br /> <br />ANN OUN CEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis felt that installations like the open space at Ampex <br />should be encouraged and protected, and that Ampex should be thanked for <br />it. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Truscelli announced the Flea Market to be held at the Veterans <br />Memorial Senior Center on Saturday, June 29 and invited all to attend. She <br />also mentioned there was nice attendance at both Memorial Day Services at <br />Union Cemetery which were sponsored by the American Legion and the <br />Historic Union Cemetery Committee. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8:50pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, July 24, 1996 to be held <br />at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood <br />City, California. <br /> <br />
