<br />( <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, JULY 24, 1996 <br /> <br />CO MMI S S lONERS PRESENT: Chairperson T ruscelli 1 C ommiss io n erg <br />Davis, Hughes, Nordness, Slusser, and <br />Swope <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Morton <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli, Pete Hughes, Phil Singer, Miles <br />Phippen, Jeff Keuscher, Carl Scheidenhell <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Peter Griffiths,S u perin ten d en t Marc Selezn 0 W, <br />S u perin tend en t Corinne C en ten 0 , Secreta ry Denis e <br />Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Pauline Truscelli at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the <br />Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br />California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The June minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-Commissioner Swope received a letter from an artist who will be producing <br />a 1997 calendar featuring trees and plants and is interested in donating a <br />portion of the proceeds to the Park and Recreation Department. The letter <br />was given to staff to look into the matter. <br /> <br />-The Commissioners each received a copy of a letter from Mayor Hartnett <br />requesting a report on FY95-96 workplan accomplishments and a proposed <br />warkplan far FY96-97. This matter will be discussed later in the meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 1- SANDPIPER PARK/BELMONT SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />ARCHITECTURAL PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Director Griffiths announced the conceptual design development for the <br />project has been completed and plans and specifications are currently being <br />prepared. Project Manager Miles Phippen of Vanir Construction <br />. Management Company gave an overview of the project and its current status. <br />Carol Scheidenhell of RDS Architects representing Gordon Chong and <br />Associates reviewed the main features of the community center and school. <br /> <br /> <br />-~ <br /> <br />, . <br /> <br />.>.' <br />
