WORKPLAN REVIEW <br /> <br />The Commissioners decided to form a sub-committee to develop the <br />proposed 96-97 Commission Workplan. Commissioners Slusser (chair) I <br />Nordness and Hughes will be on the sub-committee and will report at the <br />August meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - 4TH OF JULY REPORT <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope said Commissioners and staff worked the 4th of July <br />booth and handed out information on the pavers and answered questions for <br />the public. She suggested that a collapsible booth be developed and that <br />information about all Park and Recreation programs be available with the <br />booth. Commissioner Nordness sent a thank you letter to owner of the fire <br />truck the Commissioners rode in the 4th of July Parade. Chairperson <br />Truscelli also sent a thank you letter to the owner. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />MSkateboard Park Update <br />Commissioner Hughes reported on a meeting she and Director Griffiths <br />attended with other local Park and Recreation Directors concerning a <br />proposed regional skateboard park. Director Griffiths stated the City of <br />Burlingame is preparing a master plan for a 30 acre landfill area near Old <br />Bayshore Road and it was mentioned that a skateboard park could be included <br />in this master plan. <br /> <br />MONTHL Y REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness stated the adult membership drop-in activity at <br />Red Morton Center since March 1, 1996 is as follows: 965 different people <br />have used the facility, many of them numerous times (60% resident and 40% <br />non-resident); 194 gym/fitness cards currently in use; 331 cards sold since <br />March (10% of total are non-residents). Note: As per Supervisor Jan Knight, <br />attendance at the Red Morton Center during the past 3 weeks has averaged <br />4,300 people per week and 65% of the that figure represents youth ages 17 <br />and under. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />
