Commissioner Hughes asked for any demographics <br />about teens and children in Redwood Shores and Superintendent Seleznow <br />will obtain this information from the Planning Department. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - REPORT FROM SUB-COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Commissioner Slusser distributed a draft workplan for the Commissioners' <br />review and comments. The Commissioners agreed that they need to develop <br />Commission goals, not departmental goals in their workplan. The <br />Commissioners provided comments and made some minorchanges to the <br />draft workplan. Commissioner Nordness passed out a brochure about Red <br />Morton Center, a listing of City parks, and a copy of a newspaper article on the <br />Center. <br /> <br />M/S Davis/Morton: To approve the FY96-97 Workplan as amended. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - REPORT ON EXHUMATION REQUEST AT UNION CEMETERY <br /> <br />Chairperson Truscelli reported that Mr. Maguire withdrew this request to <br />exhume the remains of his son from Union Cemetery. <br /> <br />CO MMfITEE REPORTS <br /> <br />There were no committee reports. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness asked about the status of Hawes Park and what <br />work will be done at the facility. Superintendent Seleznow stated it will be <br />repaired under the Capital Improvement Program. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Truscelli asked about funding for the renovation of the Red <br />Morton Park restrooms. Staff indicated the renovation will also be <br />accomplished through the Capital Improvement Program. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis attended a meeting at the Red Morton Center and <br />noted that u tiliza tion is high and the staff is very competent. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Slusser said he attended "A Night of Classic Do-Wop" on <br />Saturday, August 24 at the Fox Theater which was a P.A.L. fundraiser. He <br />said he was pleased with the effort and that they would do it again in October. <br /> <br />
