A concert will also be held on September 14 <br />during the event. Please contact her for more information or if you would <br />like to help at the event. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness asked that the following two items be placed on the <br />September agenda: (1) cost of signs similar to photo at Hawes School (signs <br />would be placed at major parks); and (2) determine customer base via <br />questionnaire for the Red Morton Center (current usage is 4,200-4,500 people <br />per week; 62% youth, 38% adults). <br /> <br />-Chairperson Truscelli said Families Arts Day held Saturday, July 27 at Red <br />Morton Park was terrific. She announced the Labor Day Flea Market at the <br />Veterans Memorial Senior Center would be held Monday, September 2 and <br />invited all to attend. She was happy to announce the purchase of new <br />furniture for the Senior Center from $10,000 donated by the Gift Shop. <br /> <br />.Superintendent Seleznow announced two pavers were sold at the <br />Commission's 4th of July Festival booth. He passed out plans of the new Red <br />Morton play area to the Commissioners. He also announced he has accepted <br />a job with the County of San Mateo and would be leaving the department on <br />September 27 and that Mike Gibbons would be the interim Superintendent <br />until a replacement is selected. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Truscelli announced the Unsung Hero Award will be given to <br />Sally Hartman on September 29 at the Interservice Coordinating Council's <br />annual awards ceremony. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Morton questioned the role of the Commission in the <br />selection of "high level" management vacancies. Commissioner Nordness <br />stated it was not the Commission's role to be involved in the selection <br />process. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8:32pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 25, 1996 to be <br />held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />, , ' <br /> <br /> <br />, ,.'
