<br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of January 22, 1997 ' <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - PLANS FOR CITY COUNCIL PARK TOUR <br /> <br />The Commissioners decided on Saturday, May 17, 1997 as the date of the City <br />Council/Commission Park Tour. Commissioners Hughes and Davis will <br />develop the agenda for the tour. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - UPDATE ON RED MORTON CENTER <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nordness reported the tapestry will be completed on February <br />7, delivered to the facility on February 14, and will be affixed to the wall after <br />that date. Possible date for the celebration may be March I, 1997. The sub- <br />committee for the Red Morton Celebration have a meeting scheduled for <br />Monday, January 25 and will report back to the Commission. <br /> <br />ITEM 7 - IMPLEMENTATION OF FY96-97 WORKPLAN GOALS <br /> <br />Commissioner Slusser submitted an article for the Winter Citywide <br />Recreation brochure regarding Spinas and Fleishman Parks. Commissioners <br />Davis and Nordness are working on interfacing with the schools and public <br />groups. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS/MONTHL Y REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis commented on the Youth Advisory Council update. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Slusser announced there will be a community meeting in <br />February regarding a proposed dog park site in Redwood Shores. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Hughes invited the Commissioners to the St. Patrick's Day <br />Dinner to benefit Kainos which will be held at Pete's Harbor on March 17. <br />Cost of the tickets are $20.00 each. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Truscelli announced the Outstanding Citizen Award Dinner <br />sponsored by the American Legion will be held on February 22 and cost of the <br />tickets are $25.00 each. Nominations for the program are due by February 12. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8:35pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, February 26, 1997 to be <br />held at the Red Morton Center, 1120 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br />California. <br /> <br /> <br />,'. .. <br /> <br />. ., <br /> <br />
