<br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of August 27, 1997 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - DOG PARK U PDA TE <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reported that he met with Mary Parden, Mike Gibson, and <br />Director Griffiths at Site A and discovered the property area for Site A is actually <br />next to the curb line and closer to the restroom that previously described. Mr. <br />Gibson also did a physical layout of the property with Superintendent Hover. <br />Superintendent Hover noted he attended a Board meeting of the Redwood <br />Shores Owners Association (RSOA) regarding the proposed dog park on Site A. <br />Because the original ballot contained incorrect informatiolJ, the members of <br />RSOA may be re-balloted on the proposed site. <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reported that Director Griffiths has contacted the San <br />Carlos Airport regarding the Airport's portion of the clear zone area as a possible <br />dog park site. There are also has been some talk about some State property <br />near the water tank as a possible site. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - ST AFFORD/STULSAFT PARK PROJECT UPDATE <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reported MIG was selected as the consultant for this <br />project as a result of a selection process which involved members of the <br />community. MIG will obtain public input, cost estimates and assist in the design <br />of the project. There will be two public meetings on Saturday, September 13 at <br />which MIG will listen to ideas to incorporate in the conceptual design of the park. <br />The first meeting will be held at Stafford Park from 11: OOam-1 : OOpm and the <br />second will be at Stulsaft Park from 3:00-5:00pm. All surrounding neighbors will <br />be noticed for the meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - MARLIN PARK CONSTRUCTION UPDATE <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reported on meetings held with City staff and the <br />contractor for this project to try and resolve several maintenance issues. There <br />will be a re-inspection meeting on September 2 at which time the City will <br />probably accept the maintenance of the property and it will then be open to the <br />pu blic. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - PARK RESTROOM MATRIX <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover stated a matrix of park restroom facilities was developed <br />at the request of Councilman Ira Ruskin. Each of the facilities was rated and <br />prioritized according to the level of repair needed. The matrix was given to each <br />of the Commissioners for their review. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - SUPERINTENDENT HOVER'S MONTHLY STAFF REPORT TO <br />DIRECTOR <br /> <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reviewed the monthly report with the Commissioners and <br />answered questions. <br /> <br />- . <br />, :'\ <br /> <br />. ~:, <br /> <br />-," -- <br /> <br />-',,- .- <br /> <br />--," <br />.-c. <br />
