J <br />~;~: . <br />~k' . <br /> <br />-School Fields Project <br />Manager Gibbons reported the project will include new sand-based fields for <br />Garfield and Taft Schools; Fair Oaks School has been removed from the project. <br />A report to approve the consultant agreement will be going to Council on May 3. <br /> <br />-Sequoia High School Pool <br />Superintendent Centeno reported that a preliminary report was received from the <br />Sequoia High School District regarding this proposal. Staff is currently reviewing <br />the proposed plans to determine if the project meets our needs. <br /> <br />, <br />..', <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - DATE SELECTION FOR 1999 PARK TOUR <br /> <br />Administrative Assistant Monroe reported that she has only heard from Mayor <br />Howard, Vice Mayor Ruskin and Councilmember Hartnett about dates for the <br />park tour to be held in May. The Commissioners suggested deferring the tour <br />until September and sending a memo to the Council asking them for available <br />dates. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Chairperson Morton asked the Commissioners if they were interested in <br />participating in the 4th of July parade and they all agreed. Commissioner Slusser <br />will obtain an application and Commissioners LaBerge and Joseph volunteered <br />to decorate the parade vehicle. Chairperson Morton will contact the Youth <br />Advisory Board to see if they would like to ride in the parade with the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Joseph provided complimentary tickets to the North Star <br />Academy performance of "Romeo and Juliet" to be held May 21-23 at McKinley <br />School. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Swope invited the Commissioners to attend the Annual Prayer <br />Breakfast sponsored by the Service League on May 6 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel <br />in Foster City; tickets are $30.00 each. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned at <br />8:52pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, May 25, 1999 to be held at <br />the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. <br />California <br /> <br />
