<br /> <br />" <br /> <br />~ f I , <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES/CONCESSIONS <br /> <br />The Commission had been mailed a memo from the Director relating the <br />concerns of the City Attorney's office in allowing a concessionaire <br />to distribute alcohol in the park system. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mortensen felt it would still be a good idea to contact <br />other cities such as Walnut Creek and Manteca to get ideas on what <br />requirements and restrictions they impose on their concessionaires. <br />He said he would mail a questionnaire to cities that had a <br />vendor/concession arrangement in their parks. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - POLICE YOUTH CLUB <br /> <br />The Commission discussed and approved in concept either of the <br />following alternatives for acceptance of the $15,000 in~olice Youth <br />Club funds: 1) A plaque to be placed inside the PYC B~ilding <br />memorializing the donation of funds and the contribution the group <br />made to the community. 2) A sign at Kiwanis Field designating <br />funds for this backstop donated by the Redwood City Police Youth <br />Club. Director Griffiths will write a memo to the Police Chief <br />advising him of the above alternatives. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION INSPECTIONS <br /> <br />Director Griffiths explained that the Park Division OWL worksite <br />committees had been discussing the park inspection reports that the <br />Commissioners turn in to staff. The worksite committees were <br />suggesting changes/variations on this procedure. Staff will forward <br />to the Commission the minutes of the worksite meetings. <br /> <br />Monthl~ R~ports <br />Approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Roundtable <br /> <br />The Commissioners submitted their park inspections to staff and <br />commented on the various parks. The brown turf due to lack of water <br />was noticed by all. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission adjourned <br />at 9:25 p.m. to be reconvened Wednesday, September 14, 1988 at 7:30 <br />p.m. in the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />/pr.8.10 <br /> <br />
