<br />, <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />a staff report on field use for their next meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION PARK INSPECTIONS <br /> <br />Commissioner Nordness was somewhat disturbed about the concerns of <br />the Landscape Gardeners relative to the park inspection reports. He <br />said the reports were in no way intended to criticize the efforts of <br />the Gardeners, but to point out safety and liability problems. Mr. <br />Nordness developed a different form to possibly be used including a <br />checklist. Staff will bring it to the Gardeners for their comments. <br />Chairman Swope suggested a brown bag lunch be arranged with the <br />Commission and the Park Division staff. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />ITEM 4- UNION CEMETERY UPDATE <br /> <br />Union Cemetery plans and specifications will go to City Council for <br />approval of plans and specifications and authorization to call for <br />bids on September 26,1988 and the award of contract set for <br />November 7,1988. This would place construction start-up around <br />early December at the latest. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - RED MORTON COMMUNITY PARK PARKING LOT PROJECT UPDATE <br /> <br />The parking lot project will also go to Council on September 26 with <br />the same timeline as the Union Cemetery project. The length of <br />construction is uncertain since this type of project is weather <br />permitting. <br /> <br />Roundtable <br /> <br />Commissioner Nordness asked what type of after school sports were <br />planned and when they would be starting. Staff responded that <br />volleyball and flag football sign-ups would begin the week of <br />September 19. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission adjourned <br />at 9:55 p.m. to be reconvened Wednesday, October 12,1988 at 7:30 <br />p.m. in the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />/pr.9.14 <br /> <br />
