Chairman Swope said,she felt a valid survey <br />should be conducted and a professional campaign manager hired. <br /> <br />Director Griffiths indicated that the department1s management <br />personnel had met to discuss the bond issue. Staff was very <br />concerned with workload requirements of doing a bond issue along <br />with the heavy summer programs and projects already planned from now <br />to November. In addition staff felt a program manager would have to <br />be hired to supervise and manage a bond issue of this size and <br />diversity. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howard expressed concern over the fact that the <br />Commission was being asked to make a recommendation on this matter <br />before the City Council had been informed of the issue. The <br />Commission did agree to unanimously support a bond issue of some <br />sort. Ms. Swope impressed on the Commiss'ion the commi tment and work <br />expected of each Commissioner if such a bond issue in fact does come <br />to fruition. ' <br /> <br />Monthl~ Reports <br />The Commission submitted their park inspection reports to staff. <br /> <br />The monthly reports were approved 'as submitted. <br /> <br />Roundtable <br /> <br />Commissioner Nordness commended Program Coordinator Fisch on a fine <br />job on the Citywide Newsletter. <br /> <br />Commissioner Weiss said he is working to have a bicycle repair class <br />offered in Redwood City for the spring quarter. <br /> <br />Director Griffiths and Secretary Frei will be taking a four (4) <br />month class at Canada begin,ning February 1. The Commission was <br />asked to reschedule the Wednesday meetings to another day.
