<br />'" (f) Flat Slabs. Top and bottom reinforcing <br />shall be provided in the column strips, continuous <br />throughout their length. The minimum reinforcement <br />shall be at least 25% of the maximum negative <br />reinforcement. This minimum reinforcement shall be <br />provided in both top and bottom of the slab. Laps <br />at interior columns and anchorage at exterior <br />supports for this reinforcement shall be as <br />required in sub-paragraph (b) above.' <br /> <br />"Section 9.131 <br /> <br />In addition to the provisions set forth <br /> <br />in Section 2618 (i) of the Building Code relating to pre- <br /> <br />stressed concrete, the following provisions shall be applicable: <br /> <br />"'Vertical Acceleration: Pre-stressed concrete slabs, <br />beams, girders, trusses, and similar horizontal <br />framing members shall be proportioned to resist, at <br />ultimate strength, the effect of vertical seismic <br />excitation sufficient to relieve the member of 50% <br />of its gravity loads. For single span members the <br />gravity load to be considered shall be the dead load <br />only. For multiple span members the gravity load <br />shall be the dead load plus live load placed for <br />maximum adverse effect. The vertical seismic effects <br />considered in this paragraph are applicable to <br />individual members and their supports.
