<br />Redwood City referred to in Divisions II and III herein- <br /> <br />below, respectively. <br /> <br />Such provisions are not intended to <br /> <br />prevent the use of any engineering design not referred to <br /> <br />herein, provided any such alternate has been approved by <br /> <br />the Building Official. <br /> <br />The Building Official may approve <br /> <br />any such alternate provided he finds after review of <br /> <br />comprehensive design data submitted by the applicant, that <br /> <br />the design is for the purpose intended, at least the equiva- <br /> <br />lent in strength, safety and effectiveness. <br /> <br />Division II <br /> <br />"Areas of Redwood City Underlain by Younger Bay Mud. <br /> <br />The provisions of this division shall <br /> <br />"Section 9.121 <br /> <br />be applicable to that portion of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />underlain by younger bay mud as indicated on that map <br /> <br />prepared by the Building Department of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City entitled 'Area of Redwood City Underlain by Younger Bay <br /> <br />Mud,' and on file in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br />For one and two story residential build- <br /> <br />"Section 9.122 <br /> <br />ings or structures only, all lot grading, soils design, <br /> <br />foundation design, and construction design including lateral <br /> <br />force analysis, shall be in accordance with the recommendations <br /> <br />of the 'Recommended Foundation Design Criteria for One and <br /> <br />Two Story Residences' <br /> <br />(dated April 15, 1974) as prepared by <br /> <br />Rutherford and Chekene, Consulting Structural Engineers and <br /> <br />as approved by the Redwood City Building Department, which <br /> <br />document is on file in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br />All structural design shall be in accord- <br /> <br />"Section 9.123 <br /> <br />ance with the Building Code including lateral force provisions <br /> <br />-9- <br />
