<br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of January 26, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Hover spoke about different methods to control the geese and also spoke about <br />how the City of Fremont is dealing with this problem. <br /> <br />The Commissioners were provided with a letter Superintendent Hover sent to <br />Redwood Shores Homeowners Association (RSHOA) President Terry Anderlini <br />which recommended a test program to control goose waste on parks field in <br />Redwood Shores. Superintendent Hover reported that the RSHOA voted <br />against our proposal at their meeting on January 23. It was noted that time is of <br />the essence because once the geese being nesting in March, they will not leave <br />the area until their eggs have hatched. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - WEB SITE STATISTICS <br /> <br />The Commissioners were provided with statistics on our web site. <br />Superintendent Hover stated the City is considering hiring a Webmaster to <br />manage its web site. <br /> <br />ITEM 7 - 2000-2002 BUDGET PROCESS <br /> <br />Su perintendent Hover handed out a copy of the budget calendar for the FY <br />2000-2002 budget process. There will be a City Cou ncil Priority Session on <br />Saturday, January 29 at City Hall beginning at 1 0:00am and everyone is invited <br />to attend. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Superintendent Hover attended an informational meeting about Propositions 12 <br />and 13. Proposition 12 would provide for $1.2 billion in funding for parks <br />renovation. He will be attending a meeting on February 8 to find out more <br />information on how the funds would be administered. Proposition 13 would <br />provide $1.9 billion in competitive grant funding for clean water and drinking <br />water projects. The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors has already given <br />its support of both measures. . <br /> <br />~Commissioner Joseph thanked Mike Gibbons and Gary Hover for their support <br />of the Adopt-A-Park Program. Commissioner Swope acknowledged <br />Commissioner Joseph for her work in promoting the program to Redwood City <br />schools. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned at <br />9:21pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, February 23,2000 to be <br />held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood <br />City, California, <br />
