<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of May 24, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />-Strateg ic Pia n n i ng Repo rt <br />Commissioner Swope reported that the committee is continuing to meet and <br />has obtained an estimate of $75,000 from MIG, Inc. for consultant fees to. <br />facilitate our department's strategic planning process. She is still waiting for <br />written expectations from the members of the committee to incorporate into <br />the process. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - 4TH OF JULY PARADE ENTRY <br /> <br />Commissioner Joseph stated the application has been filed with PCA and our <br />theme will be, npreserving the Past, Planning for the Future". Superintendent <br />Hover and Chairperson Davis are developing forms for the booth and <br />Commissioner Slusser will assist with obtaining a booth for the festival. The <br />Commissioners discussed decorating the float on June 30, July 1 and 2. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - PARK TOUR - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 <br /> <br />The Commissioners received copies of a memo sent to the City Council <br />inviting them to the Park Tour on Saturday, September 30. A follow-up <br />memo will be sent closer to the scheduled date. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli invited everyone to attend the American Legion <br />Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29 at 8: lSam. A complimentary <br />breakfast will be served following the ceremony. A second ceremony will be <br />held at 10:00am sponsored by the Historic Union Cemetery Committee. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8: 42pm to be reconvened at 7: 30pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2000 to be <br />held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood <br />City, California I <br />
