<br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, JULY 26, 2000 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Davis, Commissioners Joseph, <br />LaBerge, Morton, Slusser (arrived 7:34pm), <br />Swope, and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: 25 guests (See sign-in sheet) <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Gary Hover, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Don Davis at 7:31pm in Room 3 at the Red Morton <br />Center, 1120 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The following corrections were made to the June minutes: <br /> <br />-Under correction to May minutes, Commissioner Swope (not Chairperson <br />Davis) and Superintendent Hover are developing forms for the booth at the <br />4th of July Festival. <br /> <br />The June minutes were approved as corrected. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />There was no correspondence. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - STAFFORD PARK ISSUES <br /> <br />Chairperson Davis explained that at the June meeting, staff advised the <br />Commission that Stafford Park neighbors had concerns about various issues <br />including traffic and park over-usage. A meeting was held with the Stafford <br />neighbors on June 21 and it was facilitated by the Peninsula Conflict <br />Resolution Center (PCRC). <br /> <br />-Report from Staff <br />Superintendent Hover presented a report to the Commissioners consisting of: <br />a cover memo, a copy of the Stafford Park Interim Park Use Policy, a copy of <br />the PCRC June 21 meeting notes which were expanded to include a "staff <br />action taken" column, and a chronological listing of the Stafford Park <br />development beginning in December 1996 up to present. Superintendent <br />Hover reviewed each document in detail with the Commissioners. He also <br />
