He stated that staff can meet with the Police <br />Department immediately to discuss enforcement of park rules and <br />regulations and other park issues. The Commissioners discussed how to <br />enforce park rules and regulations and asked staff to meet with the Police <br />Department to improve enforcel11ent of existing park ordinances and interim <br />park rules at all parks, and at Stafford Park in particular. <br /> <br />Chairperson Davis felt that the limit of 25 people was too low and would <br />'conflict with non-profits using the park, and suggested amending the policy <br />to allow for groups over 25 with approval of the department. Commissioner <br />LaBerge suggested banning extra BBQs and restricting the hours of the water <br />feature. Chairperson Davis asked staff to prepare recommendations on <br />enforcement, interim use policies, reservations, changing times of the water <br />feature, and costs and details of these items for the next Commission <br />meeting. <br /> <br />M/S LaBerge/Joseph: To change Stafford Interim Use Policy to allow <br />for large groups of 2S people or more to obtain a letter permit from <br />the department and to no longer allow the use of portable BBQs, and <br />to provide the policy in Spanish. <br /> <br />Motion amended LaBerge/Joseph: And to request the Police <br />Department to enforce all municipal codes. <br />Original Motion and amended motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope asked staff to verify the location of the Stafford Park <br />restroom and Superintendent Hover agreed to verify the footprint of the <br />building. <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 10: 10pm and reconvened at 10:20pm. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - UPDATES <br /> <br />-Stulsaft Park Bid <br />Superintendent Hover announced the bids were opened and a Farm Hill <br />Neighborhood Association meeting will be held on August 15, 2000 to review <br />the design. Construction of the project will begin in mid-August. <br /> <br />-Maddux Park Renovation <br />The Commission/s August meeting wilt be a public meeting on the preliminary <br />design for Maddux. <br /> <br />-Adopt-A-Park <br />No report. <br /> <br /> <br />, '~" '.: '..;: <br /> <br />
