<br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of September 27, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - UPDATES <br /> <br />-Stulsaft Park Construction <br />Superintendent Hover reported the project is proceeding as planned. A <br />fund raising event will be held Saturday, September 30 at Stulsaft and hand <br />tiles will be sold from 10:00am to 2 :OOpm. <br /> <br />-Strategic Planning <br />Nothing to report at this time. <br /> <br />-Windmill Update <br />Commissioner Joseph thanked Commissioner Truscelli for all her fundraising <br />efforts on the windmill project and noted she has collected $1,057.00 as of <br />August 30. Commissioner Joseph stated she and Superintendent Hover met <br />with architect Morton Frank to discuss the project and Mr. Frank felt that the <br />next step was a topographic survey of the proposed location spot. <br />Commissioner Joseph is currently working on a fundraising event for the <br />project and noted that the survey could cost $25,000. Superintendent Hover <br />is working with a consultant about the project who may be able to perform <br />the survey for considerably less cost. <br /> <br />.Park Tour - Saturday, October 14, 2000 <br />The Commissioners reviewed the draft agenda and made a minor change to <br />it. The tour will begin with lunch at the CAB at 12 noon followed by a tour of <br />five different park locations. <br /> <br />-Capital Projects Update <br />Superintendent Hover stated that Maddux Park is in the design phase. The <br />Red Morton Park restroom bid will be awarded at the October 16 Council <br />meeting. Staff is working on an automatic irrigation system project which <br />will full automate our current irrigation system. The amendment to modify <br />the lease with the NFL Alumni Association will also be on the agenda of the <br />October 16 Council meeting. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />", <br />" ' <br /> <br />',', <br /> <br /> <br />\: <br />., <br />¡, <br /> <br />ÞCommissioner Joseph noted she has donated an item to be bid on at the <br />Carrington Hall fundraiser to be held on October 21; the item will be a lunch <br />with staff and one of the Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />-A nominating committee of Chairperson Davis and Commissioners Morton <br />and Truscelli was selected to prepare for election of Commission officers for <br />2001. <br />
