<br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of October 25, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Joseph expressed concern about what we have told the public and <br />Superintendent Hover agreed to contact Engineer Chu Chang. <br />-Maddux Park Renovation - Architects have returned a revised conceptual <br />plan with an alternative location of the restroom near the creekside of the <br />park; the plan also eliminates one path area in the park. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - PARK TOUR <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover announced that the park tour planned for October 14 <br />was cancelled because only one Council member was able to attend. He <br />spoke with Councilmember Barbara Pierce regarding the park tour and she <br />suggested that the park tour be converted into a Council study session held <br />on a weekday evening. Superintendent Hover will look at future Council <br />dates to schedule this meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - ELECTION OF OFFICERS <br /> <br />Chairperson Davis reported the Nominating Committee has nominated Jeri <br />Joseph as chairperson and Peter LaBerge as vice chairperson of the Park and <br />Recreation Commission for 2001. No further nominations were made from <br />the floor. <br /> <br />M/S Morton/Walsh: To accept the recommendations of the <br />Nominating Committee and to elect Jeri Joseph as chairperson and <br />Peter LaBerge as vice chairperson of the Park and Recreation <br />Commission for 2001. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The next Commission meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 15 and <br />there will be no December meeting. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Superintendent Hover spoke on Union Cemetery History booklet produced <br />by Historic Union Cemetery Association. <br />-Acting Director Centeno reported on the Annual Report of the Veterans <br />Memorial Senior Center Advisory Council. She also announced the <br />"Halloween Spooktakular" to be held at the Red Morton Center on Saturday, <br />October 28. <br />-Chairperson Davis received a token of appreciation for his service as <br />chairperson. Commissioner Morton thanked Chairperson Davis for his work <br />as chairperson and the other Commissioners added similar comments. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8:45pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2000 <br />to be held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California. <br />
