<br />, <br /> <br />>J <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of November 15, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />-Strategic Planning <br />This item has been on hold but should resume in January 2001. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - COMMENTS FROM CHAIR ELECT JERI JOSEPH <br /> <br />Commissioner and Chair Elect Jeri Joseph thanked all the Commissioners for <br />their help and support. She presented her concept of "CCE" (Create Civic <br />Engagement) which is a program to involve the community at large. She <br />asked the Commissioners to bring five ideas of items they would like to see <br />happen to the January meeting for further discussion. These five items <br />should be in order of importance. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - STATUS OF DIRECTOR RECRUITMENT <br /> <br />Chairperson Davis announced that Corinne Centeno was selected as the <br />department's new director. He explàined his involvement in the assessment <br />center process and stated that three candidates were moved forward as a <br />result process. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Joseph suggested revising the Commission's by- <br />laws/ordinance establishing the Commission. <br />-Commissioner Truscelli announced the Open House of the Arbor Gift Shop <br />on November 30 from 9:00am-3:00pm. <br />-Commissioner Joseph stated she is participating in an adopt-a-family <br />program which provides for families in need and advised the Commissioners <br />to see her if they are interested in participating. <br /> <br />-The Commissioners presented outgoing Chairperson Davis with two cakes <br />and thanked him for his work as chairperson. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8:40pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2000 to <br />be held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />
