He reported that the Council approved the architectural agreement and <br />that the presentation was well received. The Commissioners stated they <br />want to be notified of the next Skate Board Task Force meeting. <br /> <br />-Downtown Task Force <br />Chairperson Joseph stated the process is moving very slowly. <br /> <br />-Windmill Project <br />Chairperson Joseph said the last meeting was held on March 21 and was very <br />successful. Flyers are being distributed to recruit volunteers for the project; <br />the website is being developed; the fund raising event is being planned; Jean <br />Cloud is writing an article for the newspapers. <br /> <br />-Spi nas Pa rk <br />Superintendent Hover reported the Spinas Park neighborhood meeting is <br />being held this evening at 7:00pm and Peter Griffiths will be in attendance as <br />well as MIG, Inc. He will be taking over the project when Mr. Griffiths retires <br />on April 6. <br /> <br />-Proposition 12 <br />Superintendent Hover is attending a workshop on April 25 to learn about <br />administrative standards for Proposition 12. He announced we will be <br />allowed three years to encumber funds for a project and the funds need to be <br />spent in eight years. He said the State has been unable to train cities or <br />counties on how to apply for funds because they have not finalized how the <br />program will be administered. Staff is busy listing potential projects and <br />gathering information on Proposition 12. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - CREATE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT (CCE) <br /> <br />Chairperson Joseph and Commissioner Swope discussed the next steps in <br />developing our strategic plan. Superintendent Hover suggested they meet <br />with Director Centeno to determine a plan of action. The Commissioners <br />want to include the Park and Recreation element as part of the City's General <br />Plan. Commissioner Swope agreed to contact Director Centeno to set up a <br />meeting. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-The Commissioners were invited to attend Redwood City Education <br />Foundation's "Juke Box Friday Night" on Friday, March 30 at 6: 30-10: OOpm <br />at Forresters Hall. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 9:25pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 to be <br />held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood <br />City, California. <br /> <br />~ ~ <br />, ,~;;..:.:~: <br />
