She mentioned the committee is also working with the State <br />Architect's office and has requested that representatives from the State <br />Architect's office come to Redwood City to visit the site and meet with the <br />committee. Ms. La Berge announced that two landscape architects from <br />DES, Inc. have prepared seven different sketches of the park area <br />surrounding the courthouse in order to develop a public gathering space in <br />the downtown area. Superintendent Hover suggested contacting other cities <br />and legislators about passing a State bill to make this project exempt from <br />SEQA. <br /> <br />Ms. La Berge stated that the committee will be making presentations in April <br />or May to the Historic Resources Advisory Committee and San Mateo County. <br />She noted that the project was originally endorsed by the San Mateo County <br />Board of Supervisors in 1992 and was in the County's Master Plan. The <br />Commissioners indicated their support for this project and will wait for Ms. La <br />Berge to return to the Commission for formal approval. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - CPRS CONFERENCE REPORT <br /> <br />Chairperson Joseph and Superintendent Hover both spoke about their <br />experience at the recent CPRS Conference in Sacramento. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - STULSAFT PARK PLAY AREA DEDICATION <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reported that the dedication program will begin at <br />10: OOam this Saturday. The Commissioners were also provided with a draft <br />program of the event. <br /> <br />ITEM 5- UPDATES <br /> <br />-School Fields <br />Superintendent Hover reported that Taft field is complete but is still out of <br />service due to the lack of development of the root system. He reported that <br />he met with Taft School Principal Michelle Griffith concerning the fence <br />around the school and they came to an agreement on the height of the <br />fence. Garfield renovation are going out to bid and bids will be due at the <br />end of April. The Beals Group is currently preparing the architectural <br />agreement for Hoover field. Superintendent Hover stated he attended a <br />training workshop offered by the Beals Group on the maintenance and <br />management of sports fields. <br /> <br />-Adopt-A-Park <br />No report. <br /> <br />-Skate Park <br />Commissioner Davis reported that staff and the Skate Park Task Force <br />Committee made a successful presentation to City Council on Monday I March <br />
