The bid for Garfield Field has
been awarded and the construction will begin very soon. Hoover Park field is
scheduled for FY 2001-2002 funding and synthetic turf has been suggested
for this project which will decrease our water usage and increase the
durability of the field.

ITEM 5 - CREATE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT (CCE)

Chairperson Joseph suggested that the Bay Area Backroads video be viewed
at the June meeting. This matter will
be discussed further at the June meeting.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

-Chairperson Joseph spoke about the article on Pacific Shores in the May 19
edition of The Independent. There is also a second Memorial Day ceremony at
10:00am sponsored by the Historic Union Cemetery Association.

-Superintendent Hover spoke about the possible installation of a drainage
pipe at Garrett Park and a meeting to be held tomorrow with Community
Development staff and Park Manager Mike Gibbons about this project.
