Superintendent Hover will check with the <br />City Clerk regarding the orientation of new Commissioners. <br /> <br />The Commissioners were given a January 2002 Department Progress Report <br />for their review. Superintendent Hover stated that a progress report will be <br />included in the monthly packets. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - REVIEW COMMISSIONERS' RESPONSES TO STRATEGIC <br />PLAN QUESTIONNAIRE <br /> <br />This matter will be moved to the February agenda. Please bring your <br />responses to the February meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - UPDATES <br /> <br />-School Fields <br />Superintendent Hove reported that Garfield is in the maintenance phase; <br />Hoover will go out to bid in February, construction will run from April to July. <br /> <br />-Dog Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported that CIP funding for a second dog park was <br />moved to fund the EI Camino Real median project. He noted that Shore Dogs <br />Group has agreed to donate funds to help renovate the Shore Dogs park. <br /> <br />-Strategic Plan <br />Two strategic plan presentations have been made to community groups in <br />the past 30 days. Commissioner Davis volunteered to attend an AYSO Board <br />meeting when the strategic plan is presented to that group. <br /> <br />-Maddux Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported the park is under construction and the project <br />is moving along. He also reported that the restrooms have been installed at <br />Stulsaft Park and the project is almost completed. <br /> <br />-Spinas Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported that the Spinas Park tennis courts and other <br />areas of the park are encroaching on two adjoining pieces of property. Our <br />Engineering Department is working with these property owners to resolve the <br />issue. The project is proceeding and the committee will again meet in <br />February. <br /> <br />-Skate Park <br />Superintendent Beth announced that our consultant will be turning in 50% <br />plans on February 1 and 90% plans on February 15 to our Engineering <br />Department. He stated that the project is on schedule and bids will go out in <br />March. He noted that it has been suggested that the skatepark be named in <br />
