Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of September 25, 2002 Page 4 -Skate Park Superintendent Beth reported that grading work is being done on the site and no calls have been received from the public since the construction began. The Task Force will be meeting on October 9 at the Red Morton Center. He reported that over $4,000 has been collected from the sale of pavers and tiles. -Windmill Restoration Chairperson Joseph reported she met with Susan Moller regarding having the windmill included in the downtown renovation plan. She felt that the windmill's location needs to be decided along with the next steps. The Commissioners discussed the matter and many felt that there needs to be a lead agency or organization to spearhead this project. Commissioner Truscelli stated she would make an announcement to local service clubs at the October 7 meeting of the Interservice Coordinating Council. Chairperson Joseph announced she would go back to the Historic Resources Advisory Committee to see if they might be interested in handling this project. ITEM 6 - DISCUSSION OF PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION CALENDAR The Commissioners decided to move their November 27 meeting to November 20 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Chairperson Joseph suggested having the November meeting in Courtroom A at the San Mateo County Historical Museum. There was not consensus on this matter. The Commissioners will not meet in December because of the Board and Commission Dinner held the same month. ANNOUNCEMENTS There were no announcements. ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA -Form Nomination Committee in preparation of election of officers at November meeting; presentation by Youth & Family Assistance program (YFA), Spinas Park Design Plans, input from Stafford Park neighbors on proposed rules at Stafford Park and final approval of Stafford Park rules The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned at 9:25pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 23,2002 to be held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California.
