¡ Park arid Recreation Commission Minutes of November 20,2002 Page 3 ITEM 2 - PRESENTATION ON STAFFORD PARK CONCERT SURVEYS Copjes of the summary from surveys taken of park neighbors and concert attendees were reviewed by the Commission. Superintendent Beth reported on the response rate and actions taken to have Police support, deal with extra trash, etc, Commissioners would like to see the neighborhood summary mailed to neighbors. Commissioner Davis wanted the survey results summarized and incorporated into the minutes. .f ITEM 3 - STAFF UPDATES Stafford Park Concert Series 2002 Survey Results: . 87 surveys mailed, 50 responses received (670/0 response rate) Question #1 - The eight summer concerts held at Stafford Park positively impact the quality of life in my neighborhood. Strongly Agree 450/0, Agree 140/0, Neutral 15%, Disagree 13%, Strongly Disagree 130/0 Question #2 - The eight summer concerts should be scheduled somewhere else. Strongly Agree 140/0, Agree 50/0, Neutral 19%, Disagree 200/0, Strongly Disagree 420/0 Question #3 - I think the eight summer concerts should remain at Stafford Park. Strongly Agree 450/0, Agree 250/0. Neutral 12.50/0, Disagree 5%, Strongly Disagree 12.5% Youth and Teen Advisory Board visits regarding non-voting participation with the Parks and Recreation Commission Superintendent Beth introduced Supervisor Jodi Shepard and Maria Fernandez along with three student members of the Youth Advisory Board. At the request of the Commission, Superintendent Beth visited both the teen and youth advisory boards to share the concept of becoming non-voting members of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Ms. Shepard noted that the group was here to get a sense of what the Commission is like and would go back to their group for discussion. Spinas Park Superintendent Hover reported that the final working drawings are in process and that he and Engineering staff had met with the developer of the property next door to the site. This meeting resulted in the rotation of the restroom and progress regarding City easement issues. Skate Park Superintendent Beth reported on the Skate Park Task force logo contest, the discussions regarding additional fencing to protect skaters from foul balls and construction status of the project.
