<br />¡ Park arid Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of November 20,2002 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - PRESENTATION ON STAFFORD PARK CONCERT SURVEYS <br /> <br />Copjes of the summary from surveys taken of park neighbors and concert <br />attendees were reviewed by the Commission. Superintendent Beth reported on <br />the response rate and actions taken to have Police support, deal with extra trash, <br />etc, Commissioners would like to see the neighborhood summary mailed to <br />neighbors. Commissioner Davis wanted the survey results summarized and <br />incorporated into the minutes. <br /> <br />.f <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - STAFF UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />Stafford Park Concert Series 2002 Survey Results: <br />. 87 surveys mailed, 50 responses received (670/0 response rate) <br /> <br />Question #1 - The eight summer concerts held at Stafford Park positively impact <br />the quality of life in my neighborhood. <br />Strongly Agree 450/0, Agree 140/0, Neutral 15%, Disagree 13%, Strongly Disagree 130/0 <br /> <br />Question #2 - The eight summer concerts should be scheduled somewhere else. <br />Strongly Agree 140/0, Agree 50/0, Neutral 19%, Disagree 200/0, Strongly Disagree 420/0 <br /> <br />Question #3 - I think the eight summer concerts should remain at Stafford Park. <br />Strongly Agree 450/0, Agree 250/0. Neutral 12.50/0, Disagree 5%, Strongly Disagree 12.5% <br /> <br />Youth and Teen Advisory Board visits regarding non-voting participation <br />with the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Superintendent Beth introduced Supervisor Jodi Shepard and Maria Fernandez <br />along with three student members of the Youth Advisory Board. At the request of <br />the Commission, Superintendent Beth visited both the teen and youth advisory <br />boards to share the concept of becoming non-voting members of the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission. Ms. Shepard noted that the group was here to get a <br />sense of what the Commission is like and would go back to their group for <br />discussion. <br /> <br />Spinas Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported that the final working drawings are in process and <br />that he and Engineering staff had met with the developer of the property next <br />door to the site. This meeting resulted in the rotation of the restroom and <br />progress regarding City easement issues. <br /> <br />Skate Park <br />Superintendent Beth reported on the Skate Park Task force logo contest, the <br />discussions regarding additional fencing to protect skaters from foul balls and <br />construction status of the project. <br /> <br />
