He mentioned that <br />perhaps the Commission would like to have a Study Session with the Council <br />in April to discuss the department's Strategic Plan document. <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed the report and several felt that additional data <br />is needed on our facility needs and class programming. The Commissioners <br />spoke about obtaining comparative programming data from neighboring <br />cities. - <br /> <br />The Commissione.rs agreed to target April as a possible month for a Study <br />Session but felt that the date might have to be moved to later in the year if <br />the Strategic Report was not finished in February. <br /> <br />The following items were taken out of order: <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - STAFF UPDATES <br /> <br />-Advisory Board visits regarding possible non-voting participation <br />with the Park and Recreation Commission - <br />Superintendent Beth reported that one or two representatives from the Youth <br />Advisory Board will come to the February Commission meeting. It was <br />suggested that the Teen and Youth Advisory Boards be added to the <br />Commission's monthly agenda. The representatives of the Teen Advisory <br />Board were advised to notify staff if there was something they would like to <br />have added to the Commission's monthly agenda. <br /> <br />-Spinas Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported that the drawings are 95% complete and will <br />go out to bid in February, with construction to begin in April. Commissioner <br />Joseph noted receiving three e-mails from Spinas Park neighbors about the <br />status of the park renovation. Superintendent Hover agreed to contact these <br />neighbors and provide them with an update on the project. <br /> <br />-Skate pa rk <br />Superintendent Beth reported the grand opening of the skate park is <br />scheduled for Saturday, March 15, depending on weather delays in the <br />construction. <br /> <br />-Windmill Restoration <br />Commissioner Joseph reported that the San Mateo County Historic <br />Association has expressed interest in taking the lead on the windmill <br />restoration project. In accepting the project, the Historic Association would <br />also be offered the donations collected to date, the windmill components <br />currently in inventory, the Capital Project funds currently budgeted for this <br />project, and the model windmill. Superintendent Hover stated staff could <br />write a letter on behalf of the Commission asking the Historic Association to <br />take the lead on the project and other details of the transaction. . <br /> <br />
