<br />. <br /> <br />.. <br />'" <br />i <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of January 22, 2003 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed the proposal and felt it was one they could <br />support. There was djscussion about possible locations where the windmill <br />could be placed. <br /> <br />MIS Joseph/Truscelli: That staff, on behalf of the Park and <br />Recreation Commission, write a letter to Executive Director Mitch <br />Postel of the San Mateo County Historic Association offering the <br />existing windmill components currently in inventory, the model <br />windmill, the donations collected to date, and the Capital Project <br />funds currently in the budget if the Historic Association would take <br />. the lead on the windmill restoration project with the stipulation that <br />the windmill remain in Redwood City and accessible to the public. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Commissioner Joseph stated the model windmill would need to be moved <br />from the Senior Center to the Historical Museum. She also announced that <br />the "History of Redwood City" exhibit opens on March 1 at the Museum. <br /> <br />-Fair Oaks School Field <br />Superintendent Hover stated he has met with the School District and the <br />project is moving ahead. <br /> <br />-Pet Parade <br />Commissioner Joseph announced she has met with the Shore Dogs group <br />about the Pet Parade and the group has agreed to support this year's event. <br />The next Pet Parade organizational meeting will be held on February 11 at <br />6:30pm at Planet Pooch. Commissioner Joseph spoke about plans for the Pet <br />Parade and noted she will be handling publicity for the event. <br /> <br />Commissioner Truscefli left the meeting at 8: SOpm. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF BUILDING RENTAL RATES <br />REPORTS <br /> <br />Superintendent Beth stated it has been 13 years since the Department's <br />building rental rates were last updated. Staff conducted an internal review of <br />each bui1ding's policies and procedures, as well as an external review of <br />surrounding cities' rates. Staff also recommended that the rental rates and <br />policies be standardized through out the department. <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed the proposed rate changes and made a few <br />minor suggestions to the document. They also agreed that they would like to <br />have staff present the report to Council. <br /> <br />~: <br /> <br />
