Superintendent Hover agreed to register Commissioners Yapp for the conference. <br /> <br />Superintendent Beth explained that students are allowed free admittance to the CPRS <br />Conference and asked if any of the Youth or Teen Advisory Board members would like <br />to go. A CPRS conference brochure was provided to the non..voting members. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - PROPOSED CHANGES IN BOARD AND COMMISSION HANDBOOK <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover is currently reviewing the handbook and will bring back revisions <br />to the Commission at the May meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - STAFF UPDATES <br /> <br />-S pinas Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported that the drawings are still at 95% complete. He is in <br />communication with Roxanne Dragan and Bonnie Miller from the Friendly Acres <br />. Neighborhood Association and he will also be attending the Association's next meeting. <br /> <br />-Skate Park <br />Superintendent Beth announced that the Grand Opening of the Phil Shao Memorial Skate <br />Park will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 10:00am. The Skate Park is nearly complete <br />and the contractor is working on a punch list that was generated from the City's <br />Engineering Department. Superintendent Beth also reported that some anxious skaters <br />have accessed the park but measures are being put in place to control this until the fences <br />are removed. <br /> <br />-Windmill Restoration <br />Superintendent Hover reported the San Mateo County Historic Association is very <br />interested in partnering with the City on this project. He is working on drafting an MOD <br />with the Association and considerations of liability, prioritization, fundraising, <br />volunteers, and site location are being addressed. Superintendent Hover reported that a <br />potential site might be the Orchard Supply area, which is close to where the windmill was <br />originally located. Commissioner Davis reported that he has located weathered shingles <br />at this home that could be used for repair if needed. <br /> <br />Chairperson Walsh asked about the timeline. Superintendent Hover said that he did not <br />know because of donation issues, and because the County may be cutting 30% of the <br />Association's budget next year. <br /> <br />.. Fair Oaks Field <br />Director Centeno reported that she presented to City Council on Monday, February 24 <br />2003, the concept of partnering with the County of San Mateo and the Redwood City <br />School District on installing a synthetic turf field at Fair Oaks School. The Council voted <br />unanimously to fund $525,000 out of the CIP for this project. This will be based on the <br />County receiving CD BG funds to pay for their share. <br /> <br />
