<br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of February 26,2003 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis reiterated that we need to try and detenninewhatthe quantifiable <br />needs for classes in the community are. Commissioner Swope said that we do not need <br />to measure this since staff is able to quickly adjust to the market and demand for ~ew <br />classes by adding them. Director Centeno said that we do address this issue in the "Cost- <br />Recovery" strategy under Programs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis questioned staff and the Commission of how do we know if Parks is <br />over.funded and Recreation is under-funded. Superintendent Hover suggested that to <br />help with the process that we invite a Council member or two to the next meeting (or on a <br />Saturday for a focus group). Director Centeno said that we would be looking into a <br />Study Session date with Council in May. She suggested that the presentation would be <br />done by the Commission, but the staff will do the work. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />Superintendent Beth announced that City Council approved the Building Rental Rates on <br />Monday, February 24 which the Commission had approved at their January meeting. <br />Commissioner Yapp was present at the Council meeting for support and to help with any <br />questions.
