<br />'w <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 2003 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Walsh, Commissioners Davis, <br />Joseph, Swope, and Yapp <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Morton and Truscelli <br /> <br />TEEN ADVISORY BOARD PRESENT: None <br /> <br />YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD PRESENT: None <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Jeff Anderson, Jeff Filippi <br /> <br />STAFF PRESE'NT: Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendent Gary Hover, <br />Secretary Denise Monroe . <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Matt Walsh at 7:30pm in Room 1 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The June minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-A letter was received from Teen Advisory Board Member Eileen Parker which <br />will be discussed under Item 5. <br />-A copy of a letter sent to the Woodside High Trio by Civic Cultural <br />Commissioner Brian Douglas was received. The letter thanked the group for <br />playing on our 4th of July float. Chairperson Walsh agreed to draft a thank <br />you letter to the Woodside High Trio on behalf of the Commission. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - 4th OF JULY PARADE FLOAT AWARD <br /> <br />Bill Anderson, President of the Peninsula Celebration Association, presented <br />the Commission with a trophy and a check for $750.00 for being the Sally <br />Morrison Grand Sweepstakes Winner in the float division in this year's 4th of <br />July Parade. The Commission and staff thanked Mr. Anderson for the award <br />and also expressed their appreciation to Jeff Norris of PCA who helped repair <br />the flat tire on the Commission's float during the parade. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />.' <br />
