<br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of September 24, 2003 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />fÍ <br /> <br />.,. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />-Study Session, November 1 at Sandpiper Community Center <br />Chairperson Walsh suggested having the Park Tour and Social on November <br />1 from 9:00am-1 :OOpm at the Sandpiper Community Center and the <br />Commissioners agreed with the suggestion. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - DISCUSSION OF PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CALENDAR <br /> <br />-December P&R Commission Meeting <br />The Commissioners discussed upcoming agenda items for the October, <br />November and December meetings. <br /> <br />October meeting: Appointment of Nominating Committee for election of <br />officers for 2004 <br />November meeting: Election of Officers (officers will begin their terms in <br />January 2004); Review of Strategic Plan <br />December meeting: Brainstorming Session to be held on Saturday, <br />December 6 from 12:00-3:00pm in the Goldstar Room at the Senior Center <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Joseph announced she received calls from two parents of <br />children playing AYSO soccer on Taft field on Monday night. The parents <br />reported that two dogs were running and fighting on Taft field and the owner <br />of the dogs came outside with a gun and shot three bullets into the air to <br />break up the dogs from fighting. Commissioner Morton stated that the <br />parents should contact their AYSO Division Coordinator and the Police <br />Department regarding this matter. Superintendent Hover said he contacted <br />the Police Department and they had no record of the incident. He said he <br />would pursue the matter with the Police Department. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Joseph said she read a newspaper article about the sale of <br />surplus property for a local city and asked how Redwood City handles the <br />sale of its surplus property. Superintendent Hover stated the proceeds of all <br />surplus property goes back into the City's general fund. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli announced that Representative Anna Eshoo will be <br />speaking at the November 13 meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission. <br /> <br />ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA <br />-Appointment of Nominating Committee <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8: 36pm to be reconvened at 7: 30pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 to <br />be held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />
