They also <br />spoke about past activities the TAB has been involved with and ideas for <br />future activities. Commissioners Davis advised the representatives that the <br />Commission is interested in helping advertise their events. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION TO MID-PENINSULA <br />SOCCER <br /> <br />Superintendent Beth spoke about the successful relationship the department <br />has developed with the Mid-Peninsula Soccer League in maintaining Hoover <br />field. Chairperson Walsh expressed his appreciation and presented a plaque <br />to Eduardo Carillo of the Mid-Peninsula Soccer Club. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - STRATEGIC PLAN DRAFT APPROVAL <br /> <br />Director Centeno spoke about the process staff and MIG, Inc. has been <br />working on to develop the draft strategic plan. Daniel Iacofano of MIG gave <br />an overview of the draft strategic plan and asked for comments from the <br />Commission. Commissioner Davis suggested adding an Executive Summary <br />and linking data with priority actions. He gave his book with his comments <br />to Superintendent Hover. The acknowledgements page and cover will also <br />be revised. <br /> <br />The Commissioners will discuss the strategic plan at their December 6 Study <br />Session and will bring back their comments to the January 28 Commission <br />meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT AND ELECTION OF <br />OFFICERS FOR 2004 <br /> <br />Chairperson Walsh reported that he and Commissioner Joseph were on the <br />nominating committee and they requested that the matter be tabled until the <br />December 6 Study Session. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - PARK TOUR RECAP <br /> <br />Chairperson Walsh thanked staff for their work on the park tour. He felt it <br />was a worthwhile event and thanked the Commissioners for their <br />participation. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - STAFF UPDATES <br /> <br />-Spinas Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported the project is on target and should be <br />completed by the beginning of December. A grand opening ceremony will be <br />held in mid-December. <br /> <br />
