It was suggested that Commissioner Swope also be asked to <br />participate in the process. .. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - APPROVAL OF PARK RESERVATION POLICY <br /> <br />Superintendent Chris Beth reviewed the revised park reservation policy with <br />the Commissioners. He was asked by Commissioner Davis to have members <br />of the public look at the rate schedule to see if it was understandable to <br />everyone. <br /> <br />Elizabeth Travers of 27 Lowell Street asked if people would be able to bring <br />in extra tables, chairs and tents to the parks under this policy. . <br />Superintendent Beth stated there are no City ordinance prohibiting people <br />from bringing tables and chairs into City parks. He noted that each <br />reservable area has a capacity limit and staff would look at each situation <br />individually. Superintendent Beth announced the policy wil1 be presented to <br />City Council on April 2.6 and asked if any of the Commissioners would .assist <br />with the Council presentation. Commissioner Joseph volunteered to help <br />Superintendent Beth. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - BUDGET UPDATE <br /> <br />Director Centeno spoke about the proposed department budget which was <br />presented to the Finance Department on Monday. She spoke about our <br />current budget situation, proposed cuts and possible add-backs. She also <br />. discussed the process which would be followed and announced the first <br />Council budget hearing would be held on June 14. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - UPDATES <br /> <br />-Pet Parade <br />Commissioner Joseph spoke about planned events for the Pet Parade on <br />Saturday, April 3. She announced that she and her daughter, Madison, made <br />a presentation to Council on March 22 about the Pet Parade. Madison, <br />dressed as a dog, also made the local papers. <br /> <br />-Fair Oaks Field <br />Superintendent Hover announced construction for this project will begin after <br />June 12. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - DISCUSSION OF PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CALENDAR <br /> <br />Commissioner Morton noted that March 27 is the opening of Little League <br />season for RC National and April 3 is the opening for Highlanders. <br /> <br />... ..~. .,,' ,': .... .. . <br /> <br />
