<br /> <br />J' ~ <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br />L <br /> <br />, . <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of April 28, 2004 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Walsh - felt that good ideas were generated at this meeting; invited <br />everyone to attend the Park and Recreation Commission meetings on 4th of <br />Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm at the CAB <br />Swope - felt it is important to look at balanced viewpoints to prevent this <br />from ever happening again; encouraged people to support each other and <br />look for ways to help others <br />Yapp - felt the Commission really listened to everyone's comments and <br />suggestions this evening; Commission will make a recommendations to City <br />Council for consideration; welcomed everyone to attend monthly Commission <br />meetings <br /> <br />-Next Steps <br />Director Centeno summarized the comments received from the audience: <br />1.) Have a security requirement for renters <br />2.) Look at alcohol regulation <br />3.) Look at length of party/rental time offered <br />4.) Limit rentals to Redwood City residents <br />5. ) Loo k at size of pa rties <br /> <br />Commissioner Morton discussed ideas for a motion to direct staff to prepare <br />a comprehensive report on building rentals for the Commission and report <br />back at a future meeting. <br /> <br />M/S Morton/Swope: That the Park and Recreation Commission <br />direct staff to prepare a report that would provide an overview of the <br />events of 4-17-04 of staff actions including the initial reservation, <br />during the event and afterwards, synopsized public input from <br />tonight's meeting, review of current City ordinances and Park and <br />Recreation Department internal policies that relate to this type of <br />event, prepare recommendations for the Commission to consider, <br />and have another public meeting where recommendations will be <br />presented and discussed. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover announced that due to this evening's agenda, other <br />Commission business had to be delayed. He suggested having the <br />Commission meet on Wednesday, May 12 to handle their regular business <br />and that the public be invited to attend their regular May 26 meeting where <br />staff would present their report. The Commissioners agreed a letter needs to <br />go out to the neighbors advising them of the status of this matter and invite <br />them to attend the May 26 meeting to hear the report and discuss. <br /> <br />The Commissioners wanted to make sure that the dispatch issues concerning <br />the Police Department were brought back to Chief Bolanos and Director <br />Centeno advised the Commission that she would discuss this matter with <br />him. <br /> <br />,>,' <br /> <br />",:}~ <br /> <br />¡:'::' <br />'-\. <br />
