ITEM 4 - 4TH OF JULY FLOAT UPDATE Commissioner Joseph said she has been in contact with Brian Douglas of the Civic Cultural Commission, Library staff, Teen and Youth Advisory Boards and City Trees to see if they would like to participate on our 4th of July float. She reported the application is being done. Superintendent Beth reported the 4th of July Race has been cancelled due to the parade route being changed. It will resume next year. ITEM 5 - DISCUSSION OF PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION CALENDAR The Commissioners discussed the need for a calendar of events about two month ahead. Commissioner Morton wanted a calendar with three categories: Commission meetings with the topic to be discussed, City events, and relevant activities. Superintendent Hover will work on the calendar. ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA June - BBQ regulations, Police Chief Carlos Bolanos to discuss enforcement of no BBQs, recognition of Commissioners Davis and Walsh; orientation of new commissioners, Permit on Paddling in Redwood Shores lagoons ANNOUNCEMENTS -Commissioner Swope reported she attended a Community Input Session on the Budget last night and spoke about the potential deficits the City will face in the next five years. Director Centeno stated the purpose of this meeting is to give the public an overview of the City's budget and the next Input Session will be held at the CAB on June 2 at 6: 30pm. -Director Centeno announced the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Fair Oaks Community Center will be held tomorrow from 4:00-7:00pm and invited everyone to attend. -Superintendent Beth reported our picnic reservation policy will go to Council on June 7 for approval. The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned at 9: 15pm to be reconvened at 7: 30pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 to be held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California.
