Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of June 23, 2004 Page 5 Commissioner Joseph stated the Park and Recreation Commission did not give their recommendation for the permit when it was issued in 2002. The Commissioners discussed the two options provided by staff. MIS Swope/Truscelli: To direct the representative of Stanford University-to return to the Redwood Shores community organizations for written approval of their revocable permit and bring it back to the Park and Recreation Commission within 90 days. Commissioner Joseph suggested adding an amendment to the motion regarding removing Craig Amerikhanian from the permit. There was no formal amendment made and seconded by the Commission. Commissioner Morton felt the Commission should not take any action at this time as he believes there are a lot of issues that need to be dealt with; and that more research needs to be done on the matter. Motion passed. (Yes-5, No-l Morton) The meeting was recessed at 9: 29pm and called back to order at 9: 3S pm. Commissioner Morton left the meeting at this time. ITEM 3 - UPDATES -4th of July Float Commissioner Joseph gave an update on the float and announced that float decorating will take place on Saturday, July 3 at 10: OOam at the MSC. , -Orientation of New Commissioners Director Centeno announced the City Council will make the appointments to the Park and Recreation Commission on Monday, June 28. The Commissioners discussed various options of orienting the new Commissioners and decided to schedule an informal meeting with the new Commissioners, Chairperson Yapp and staff.
