<br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of July 28, 2004 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - PRIDE AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE COORDINATION <br /> <br />Commissioner Slusser stated that he and Commissioner White are both <br />members of the City's Pride and Beautification Committee, which is <br />interested in identifying places they can help with park clean-ups. He would <br />like to have Pride & Beautification partner with the Department and asked <br />staff to come up with recommended sites. Commissioner Joseph suggested <br />also collaborating with our Adopt-A-Park Program. Superintendent Hover will <br />discuss with staff and bring back some potential ideas at the August meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - UPDATES <br /> <br />,-Stanford Rowing Permit <br />Superintendent Hover advised the Commission that the City Attorney has <br />indicated that a new permit would need to be issued. This item will come <br />back to the Commission at their September meeting. Commissioner Joseph <br />requested a copy of the City Attorney opinion memo. <br /> <br />-4th of July Float <br />Commissioner Joseph thanked the Commissioners and staff for their help on <br />the float. She announced that the Commission won two categories and cash <br />prizes totaling $700.00. She gave special thanks to Lead Landscape <br />Gardener Ah.mad Hassan who worked very hard on designing the float. Vice <br />Chairperson Morton agreed to write a letter to Ahmad for his work on the <br />float. <br /> <br />-Letter regarding closing of CAB Parking Lot <br />Superintendent Hover spoke regarding a letter the Commissioners had <br />received from Mr. and Mrs. Fancher who own rental property next to the CAB <br />parking lot. He stated that he has spoken to the Fancher's and they are fine <br />with the situation and will contact him directly if any other problems occur. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - DISCUSSION OF PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CALENDAR <br /> <br />.. . <br /> <br />. t <br /> <br />The Commissioners were advised that the additional revenue and <br />expenditure reduction proposals will be presented to City Council on <br />September 27 I <br /> <br />Commissioner Joseph suggested having presentations from the Park and <br />Recreation Managers at future meetings. <br /> <br />ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA <br /> <br />-Windmill, Final Plans for Court House Plaza, Update on Park Reservation <br />Policy, Update from Sub-Committees, Suggested Locations for Partnering <br />with Pride & Beautification Committee, Presentation from Park and <br />Recreation Manager <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1 ! <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />- , <br />t <br /> <br />
