I Commissioner White arrived at 7:35 p.m. ITEM 1 - Presentation from Human Services Manager, T eri Chin Ms. Chin made an oral presentation to the Commission on activities at the Fair Oaks Community Center sharing portions of coverage on Spanish language television, as well as a newspaper article and the commemorative booklet for the 30th Anniversary Celebration. She commented on the recent Bi-national Health' Fair and Mobile Consulate, her meeting with the 15 agencies providing holiday assistance programs, as well as statistical information on the more than 100,000 visits to the center on an annual basis and the 2,600 households assisted through the Information and Referral Program. She responded to questions regarding the issue of the ability of the undocumented to get drivers licenses, how the Center worked with the Department of Social Services, how to volunteer, what percentage of clients could actually be helped and her tenure at the Center. Director Centeno commended Ms. Chin for her success at involving many community organizations in the activities of the center. ITEM 2 - Presentation on Courthouse Plaza Project Redevelopment Manager Susan Moeller introduced Downtown Coordinator Dan lack. Mr. lack, supported with a Power Point presentation, provided the Commission with an overview of why efforts to redevelop the Downtown were important, a history of what has and has not been done to date, the development of the precise plan for Downtown, the Cinema Project, Theater Way and the conceptual design for the Courthouse Plaza. Mr. lack and Ms. Moeller responded to questions. Chairperson Yapp communicated the thanks of the Commission for the presentation. ITEM 3 - Bi.annual Approval of Building Rental Rates Superintendent Beth presented information collected from a survey of other cities and his recommendation that no change in rental fees be implemented. MIS SwopelTruscelli: To accept staff recommendation to make no changes to the rental fee schedule. Motion passed unanimously. ITEM 4 - Annual Report Transmittal and Set Retreat Date Director Centeno noted that the presentation of an annual report on activities of the Department for the prior Fiscal Year in October was part of the plan update cycle identified in the Strategic Plan. Ms. Centeno asked for direction from the Commission as to when discussion of the report should be brought before the Commission. It was the consensus of the Commission that the report be part of the discussion at the Commission retreat scheduled for Saturday, November 13,
