I .,.- Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of October 2712004 Page 4 ::~" , ; ITEM 7 - Strategic Plan Establish Sub-Committee for Park Development Fee Director Centeno requested assistance from at least two commissioners to serve as a sounding board for staff as they move through the topic of Park Development Fees. She noted that this was one of the major work products identified in the first year of the Strategic Plan. In response to a question from Commissioner Joseph, Director Centeno indicated that this subcommittee was not intended to include a visioning process for what type of parks and where future parks and facilities should be located. Commissioner Slusser suggested that staff review information in connection with the General Improvement District in looking at this ordinance. Chairperson Yapp and Commissioner Swope volunteered to serve on this sub- committee. ITEM 8 - Process for Electing Officers After discussion, the Commission decided to forgo the use of a nominating committee and take nominations from the floor and hold elections at the November meeting of the Commission. ITEM 9 - Discussion of Park and Recreation Commission Calendar and Future Events . Director Centeno noted that the date for the Board and Commission Reception had been moved to Friday, December 3, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at the Library Community Room and reminded the Commission of the Planning Commission presentation scheduled for December ih. . The Commission, by consensus, decided to not hold a meeting in December of 2004. ANNOUNCEMENTS There were no announcements.
