<br />night shift duty, as herein defined, shall receive additional <br /> <br />compensation in an amount equal to 1% of his basic monthly salary <br /> <br />for each month during the period he is so assigned; provided, <br /> <br />however, that such additional compensation shall not be included <br /> <br />in computations for overtime or other pay differentials. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />For the purposes of this section a night shift shall <br /> <br />be considered to be any duty shift commencing between the hours <br /> <br />of 3:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. <br /> <br />Each employee of the Police Department who is <br /> <br />required to operate a motorcycle shall receive additional com- <br /> <br />pensation in an amount equal to 5% of his basic monthly salary <br /> <br />for each month during which motorcycle duty is performed by such <br /> <br />employee. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. <br /> <br />Each employee of the Police Department of the <br /> <br />rank of police sergeant or below who is assigned to the Inves- <br /> <br />tigation Division shall receive additional compensation in an <br /> <br />amount equal to 6.5% of his basic monthly salary for each month <br /> <br />during the period he is so assigned; provided, however, that <br /> <br />each such employee shall not be credited with the uniform <br /> <br />maintenance allowance provided under Section 4 of Rule VI of <br /> <br />the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />during the period of such assignement. <br /> <br />SECTION 6. <br /> <br />The provisions of the foregoing sections of <br /> <br />this ordinance to the contrary notwithstanding, if a position <br /> <br />allocated to a given class in the competitive service is re- <br /> <br />allocated to a different class in order to correct an error or <br /> <br />to provide for a change in duties or responsibilities of such <br /> <br />position, and there is no change in the incumbent of the position <br /> <br />so reallocated, and the maximum salary provided for the position <br /> <br />as reallocated is less than the salary received by the incumbent <br /> <br />-2- <br />
