<br />i <br /> <br />. <br />1 <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2005 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Yapp, Commissioners Slusser, <br />Truscelli, and White <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Vice Chairperson Morton, Commissioners <br />Joseph and Swope <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: N.one <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendent Chris Beth and <br />Administrative Assistant Denise Monroe <br /> <br />Chairperson Bob Yapp called the regular meeting of the Park and Recreation <br />Commission to order at 7: 32pm in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br />Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MIN UTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the Commission's April 27- meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />Chairperson Yapp made mention of the letter sent to the San Mateo County <br />Historical Association by Superintendent Hover at the request of the <br />Commission inquiring as to the status of the windmill restoration project and <br />the presentation of the City check to the Association Board of Directors. <br /> <br />Director Centeno read the response received from Association President <br />Mitch Postel which suggests a meeting be set up to discuss next steps for the <br />restoration prior to making a presentation to the Board. Director Centeno <br />indicated that Superintendent Hover would set up the meeting. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ITEM 1- FLEISHMAN PARK RENOVATION PLAN <br /> <br />Director Centeno reported that Community Development Services, <br />Engineering Division had recommended the use of Tim McKimson for <br />landscape architectural services at Fleishman Park. 100 + letters have been <br />sent out to neighbors, contacts have been made with the Redwood Oaks <br />Neighborhood Association and flyers were sent to residents that hav~ <br />participated in the PACT and/or Community Builders Program., A scoping <br />event will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 11 :00 am at the park site. <br /> <br />
